All-Inclusive Resorts in Curaçao

On Curaçao travelers can sit back, relax, and never think about a thing during their stay

Packing For A Package

Although Curaçao is not known for its all-inclusive resorts, a few do make their homes on the shores of this little Dutch island. All-inclusive resorts are the subject of some debate, but are widely enjoyed by many travelers.

Most all-inclusive resorts follow the traditional standard: One price for all of the food and drinks you could want, as well as most of the available activities - with a select few reserved with an additional fee. However, some hotels and resorts offer all-inclusive programs that travelers can select for an additional fee at the start of their stay.

While either of these options usually gives you just about the same service anywhere you stay, it's always wise to call ahead and check. When you talk to the hotel or resort, be sure to ask about exactly what is included in the all-inclusive stay. Some packages do not include top-shelf liquors or wine with meals. Others include only minimal activities.

Travelers seeking an all-inclusive resort will most likely find them to the northwest of Willemstad, though some may grace the island's southern shores. The most upscale resorts are usually found to the northwest of the city, while the majority of the resorts and hotels in general are found on the southern side. The southern side of the island is especially popular for divers.

When considering an all-inclusive, vacationers should weigh the positive and negative aspects of such accommodations. The positives often outweigh the negatives - after all, it's hard to resist the charm of a vacation where you know the total cost before you even depart. This can bring a certain relaxation. Simplifying your stay by eliminating the need to carry items like your wallet - even to meals - can truly be something special.

On the other hand, many travelers believe that all-inclusives discourage visitors from getting out and seeing the island. Curaçao has so much to offer - incredible architecture, history, and culture are just the beginning. For some travelers, getting out and exploring the culture of the island is extremely important. Staying at an all-inclusive resort can be a drawback if you plan to experience the island's cuisine, as this will add to your costs.

While both opinions have merit, only you can decide what you'd like to experience on your island vacation. Curaçao has something for everyone - including all-inclusive resorts.
