In order to take advantage of Curaçao's many activities and attractions, vacationers should be familiar with common hours of operation for places like shopping centers and banks. Travelers won't want to miss out on splurging for souvenirs or making important transactions.
Getting some quick cash or checking on banking balances while vacationing in Curaçao should be relatively easy. Several banks are located on the island, and most are open during convenient hours. Vacationers can take care of all of their banking needs from Monday through Friday, when most banks are open from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The larger bank branches generally aren't open on the weekends, but the airport is home to a bank that is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The airport also has ATMs that are open 24 hours.
Travelers may want to fit most of their shopping in during the weekdays and on Saturday, because most shops on the island are closed on Sundays unless a cruise ship is in the harbor. Generally, tourist shopping centers are open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until Noon and then again from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Shops often extend their hours if cruise ship passengers are on the island.
With a little planning, you can take care of all your needs while in Curaçao without having to worry about running into a "Closed" sign.
