Before enjoying fun in the sun on the former Dutch Netherlands island of Curaçao, travelers should remember to bring a few basic documents in order to gain entry into the country. The good news is that most travelers have relatively few troubles getting through the island's customs.
To be considered a tourist in Curaçao, vacationers must be visiting the island for three months or less and cannot be employed while on the island. If you're planning to stay longer than three months, you must get special documentation. When vacationing on the island, travelers should make sure to have the following documents:
A valid passport;
A return ticket;
The necessary documents for returning to their home country or for further travel elsewhere.
Citizens of the following countries must have visas in order to visit Curacao:

Visitors requiring a visa must apply for it at least one month before departure.
The romantic beauty of Curaçao often inspires couples to tie the knot while on their island getaway. But couples must plan ahead and meet the following requirements before saying their vows:
Notify Curaçao officials two months prior to the anticipated wedding date that you want to get married on the island. After two weeks, and if all of the paperwork goes through, the couple will be notified of when their wedding will be performed.
Two weeks after the necessary documents have arrived at the Registrar Office, a legal ten day period between the notification of your wedding and the day it is to be performed is in effect.
The couple must report to the Registrar Office at least three days before the wedding so that the bridal couple can be identified.
Both the bride and groom must present an original copy of their birth certificate, passport, and evidence that they're single.
Vacationers will find that getting through Curaçao's customs or even getting married on the island should be virtually no problem at all as long as they have the right paperwork.
